Three o'clock in the afternoon around our home is basically a chill-out time. We will have just walked through the door from school pick-up (pick-upS depending on the day) and the boys want to immediately head to the wii or ipad. On this particular day I would love to say we played for a while because it was rainy and cold, but this is our typical day. So, whatevs. After everyone has their turn with their device of choice, then it just time to hang out and play until dinner. Every once in a while I throw in a chore of having them unload the dishwasher for me for good measure. And really that is just because I don't want to do it so I have them pitch in by doing it for me. Today was not one of those days. Since it was rainy I only took photos of the wii/ipad time on this particular day however, the next day I was upstairs with the boys in the playroom. I looked out the window and exclaimed 'Look what I see!!'. John said in a very unimpressed tone 'The light. You are going to get your camera'. They know me so well by now! So I dragged out the tripod so I could be in the photos as we read books on the couch. I swear these look posed, but they aren't. Matthew really is that snuggle-y and you can see why I get excited when we are in there at the exact right time- the light is perfect! After we read books I handed the camera over to Matty B for some diaper changing documentation. And that about sums up a typical 3:00-4:00ish day at our house! Nothing spectacularly exciting but it is still fun to capture these small moments.

Ice Cream Truck visit in November | jen faith brown photography

Yesterday was a gorgeous Texas day so after school the boys and I decided to walk down to the park. As we got out of the garage I noticed the sun was perfect for some pretty park photos so I ran back in to grab the camera. Then we thought we heard an ice cream truck's unique music. So I had John run back in to grab some cash just in case. As we rounded the corner to the park the boys started shouting 'The ice cream truck is here!! We have never been to the ice cream truck before!!' It's true. For some reason we have never been around when the ice cream man has been in the neighborhood...or maybe he just doesn't hit up our neighborhood. Either way, these photos are turning out to be some of my recent favorites of the boys and it was meant to be for me to have my camera at that exact time!

Henry Turns One | jen faith brown photography

Recently I visited with Nicki, James, and Henry and photographed their family getting ready to celebrate Henry's first birthday. They just moved to Flower Mound so they wanted a simple cake smash in their new home to show family and they could have a party for him when everyone was in town. Henry is the squishiest and cutest baby! I could just pinch his cute cheeks and thighs, but that might be frowned upon. I absolutely adored how Nicki and James were so in love with Henry. As they played, all their attention was on him, laughing at every little thing he did. You could just see it in their eyes how much they were smitten with Henry. Henry is so lucky to have such loving and sweet parents. Happy Birthday, Henry! (and get ready for cuteness overload!)
