Ice Cream Truck visit in November | jen faith brown photography

Yesterday was a gorgeous Texas day so after school the boys and I decided to walk down to the park. As we got out of the garage I noticed the sun was perfect for some pretty park photos so I ran back in to grab the camera. Then we thought we heard an ice cream truck's unique music. So I had John run back in to grab some cash just in case. As we rounded the corner to the park the boys started shouting 'The ice cream truck is here!! We have never been to the ice cream truck before!!' It's true. For some reason we have never been around when the ice cream man has been in the neighborhood...or maybe he just doesn't hit up our neighborhood. Either way, these photos are turning out to be some of my recent favorites of the boys and it was meant to be for me to have my camera at that exact time!

5 on 5: The One About A Foggy Morning

On Monday morning I was at my Camp Gladiator workout nice and early in the morning. Halfway through the workout, a fog rolled in. It is rarely foggy here in the DFW area so I was itching to photograph in this weather. After I dropped of the 2 older boys at school, Thomas and I made a pit stop at the lake. My camera battery was about to die, but the precious thing hung on for the whole trip and I got some practice in foggy photography. I was hoping the fog would be kind of wispy across the water, but really it was just a thick fog all around. Thomas and I enjoyed our relaxing and quiet hour by the lake as I took photos and he 'fished' with sticks he founded tangled up in old fishing wire.

Documenting our Days - 10:30

This month I was supposed to document '10:30' for the Documenting our Days blog circle. The happenings around our home at 10:30 varies every day. Monday through Friday the big boys are at school while Thomas and I have a routine of play group, pre school, errands, outings, and just hangin' around. The weekends are never predictable. This month I ultimately decided to share 10:30 on a lazy Sunday when the boys decided to paint and play in the playroom.
